John Hayes

Managing Partner

John Hayes is the co-founder of The Terra Cotta Financial Group and is a member of the Leadership Team. He is responsible for all financial and estate planning, insurance and tax strategies, as well as capital sourcing.

Prior to joining The Terra Cotta Financial Group, John spent 18 years as a Wealth Advisor at the brokerage arm of a major Canadian bank. John brings his wealth of tax knowledge from a 6 year career as an auditor with Canada Revenue Agency. Maria Marrese

Manager, Operations and Service

Maria is the Manager, Operations and Service for Terra Cotta Investment Counsel Inc. (TCIC).  She is responsible for overseeing and coordinating day to day operational activities to improve effectiveness, productivity and client service.
Maria has held senior operational and administration roles in the banking and financial industry for over 25 years.  Her experience includes managing a national money-in sales support unit for a large Canadian trust company and managing the fraud detection and anti-money laundering groups for a major Canadian bank.  Most recently, Maria held a relationship management service role for a national private client investment group where she helped to create long-term value for internal and external clients.
Maria's unique combination of skills and experience make her a valued and welcome addition to our team.  When not at work, Maria enjoys winding down with yoga and spending time outdoors.
